Lodging Tax Goes To Voters

Voters in Deschutes County will be deciding whether or not to approve an increase in lodging tax.  County Commissioners voted two to one, with Commissioner Tammy Melton voting no, to place the tax on the ballot.
 
If approved, the new tax would raise from seven to eight percent in September of 2009.  A second increse up to nine percent would take affect in September of 2010.
